Positions within Orange County government, including municipalities that fall under its jurisdiction, are typically classified as either Competitive, Non-competitive, Exempt or Labor. The type of jurisdictional classification will determine if there are any minimum qualifications and/or examination required to fill the position.

The Orange County Department of Personnel has limited central recruitment. We accept applications for specifically announced examinations and for posted and advertised job openings and vacancies.
