 | What are DMV's hours? Office hours at all locations in Orange County are: 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday - except holidays.
EVENING HOURS:
The GOSHEN office is open until 7:30p.m. on Wednesdays.
The NEWBURGH office until 7:30 p.m. on Thursdays.
ALL Orange County DMV offices handle enforcement transactions for conditional or restricted licenses.
The hours for enforcement transactions in Goshen, Newburgh and Middletown are 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.
Port Jervis hours are 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., and 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.
Insurance suspensions can be handled at all four Orange County Motor Vehicle Departments from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. Back to Top |

 | When may I take a learner's permit test? Permits are given in Orange County from 9 to 11am and 2 to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday for cars and motorcycles. CDL (Commercial Drivers License) permits are 9 to 12 noon Monday through Friday. Back to Top |

 | May I come into the office to renew my vehicle registration or must I mail it?
You may come to any of the four Orange County DMV offices to renew. The renewal reminder mailed to you by the State indicates on the back page that renewals must be processed by mail. Please note that any county DMV office will accept renewals in person or by mail.
When renewals are processed in person or mailed at a County office, 12.7% of each transaction remains in Orange County.

DMV's telephone road test scheduling system is fast, easy to use and convenient. It is easy to schedule, reschedule or cancel a road test, get directions to where the road test is given, and confirm an existing appointment, 24 hours a day.
Please have the following information available when calling to schedule an appointment:
- Nine-digit client ID number, which can be found just above your picture on your learner permit or driver license.
- Six-digit Pre-licensing Course completion number or Student Certificate number (printed in red).
- Your five-digit zip code or the five-digit zip code of the area where you would like to take your road test.
